Idol stands behind risky song choice, now it's party time Holly

A PRE-PAID party awaits Mildura singer Holly Weinert after she became the first Australian Idol finalist eliminated from the show last night.

To boost her chances on the show, staff at local pub The Sandbar, her former employer, had kept a donation jar which would have been used to vote for the wannabe rock chick.

Now she is out of the show, bartender Weinert said the more than $1,000 raised was going straight on the bar.
