Quirky Brianna the second to go from Australian Idol
BRISBANE music student Brianna Carpenter's Australian Idol journey was cut short last night but she vowed her career as a singer has only just begun.
Carpenter, 21, was dubbed the token "quirky" act for this year's series of the reality singing contest and Sunday night's rock category was one she admitted would be a struggle for her.
A multi-instrumentalist who would prefer to be performing her own songs rather than covers, Carpenter impressed viewers to win a place in the top 12 with a flawless take on eccentric act Regina Spektor's Fidelity.
But rock was a stretch.
