Idol: Goodbye Jacob

In a week of performances that has kept most of the judges extremely happy, it was going to be a tough decision by Australia to send one of the final eight hopefuls home.

After performing the Kink's classic "You really got me now" - together as the final 8 for the last time - Andrew G and James Mathison announced the all-male bottom three.

Daniel was sent back to the couch immediately, leaving a nervous Carl and Jacob in the firing line.

Finally, Jacob Butler was announced as the next contestant to go home, as Carl made his way back to the couch.

For the last time on the Australian Idol 2007 stage, Jacob bid the competition farewell singing "Let it be".
