X Factor's Emily quits over second teenage happy slapping video
An X Factor finalist has been forced off the show after a "happy-slapping" video emerged of her attacking another girl.
Emily Nakanda, 15, is wearing her school uniform as she is seen grabbing a girl in a headlock and swinging her by the hair.
The images, sent by mobile phone to a number of her friends, also show her punching the girl, called Anna, and shoving her to the ground.
In sickening scenes the church choir singer is seen telling the girl she is going to rip out her hair - then saying: "If it rips out I'm gonna get blood on my clothes."
This is just days after a another video clip came to light of Emily, calling herself gang member Lady Shiverz, threatening to cut out a boy's eyes with a knife.
Yesterday the show claimed that after carrying out its own investigation into the controversy, the singer decided to quit.
Insiders believe she was left with little option after show bosses were concerned her antics were in danger of tarnishing the X Factor brand.
According to bookmakers Miss Nakanda, who was the first ever 14-year-old to audition for the show, was second favourite to win.
A spokesman for show said: "We can confirm that she has chosen to withdraw herself from the competition with immediate effect."
Speaking on behalf of her daughter, the girl's mother, Louis Friberg, said: "As a family we are heartbroken and very disappointed with Emily's behaviour, we feel that there is no choice but to withdraw Emily from the competition.
"Emily and all the family sincerely apologise to both Anna, her school and all the fans that have supported Emily. Emily regrets her actions but there is no way as a family we can excuse her behaviour.
"Emily is very sorry to have let the show, Sharon and the viewers down."
Sharon Osbourne, her mentor on the programme, yesterday said: "I am deeply saddened by this whole situation."
Embarrassingly Simon Cowell had earlier claimed that her performance had demonstrated why the age limit of the show was controversially lowered.
The latest mobile phone footage sees the girl cracking her knuckles before launching the attack in an alleyway near her home in North Finchley, London as an unknown friend records the assault on their mobile.
She is believed to have told show bosses that the girl was a friend she had a "disagreement" with.
Miss Nakanda, who knew nearly died last year after she was struck down with peritonitis, sings in school and church choirs.
She got through her audition on the show by singing Almaz by Randy Crawford and has also performed I Knew You Were Waiting on the show.
An X Factor spokesman claimed that the series would not be cut short as a result of the singer's departure.
But there may only be two finalists in the final episode of the show rather than three as a result of the girls early exit.
