Guy Sebastian says Idol's a bore
THE death knell for Australian Idol rang louder this week when the show's original winner joined a growing chorus of fans failing to be enthralled by the recent season.
In an uncharacteristic spray, Guy Sebastian claims he found the season "boring'', saying the fifth season of the talent quest was more about contestants "pushing their own agendas'' than performing.
"There were a lot of people who were quite calculated in their use of the show and quite blatantly used it to get a platform for their careers,'' Sebastian said.
"I think because of that, some of the essence of the show was lost.''
"There were some people who just ... kept sticking to their same styles week in, week out, which is a bit boring and self-indulgent.''
The Fro even went as far to suggest the Idol formula had lost its sheen.
