Canadian singers play with themselves on TV
Unleash your inner idol: Canadian Idol Audition Tour begins Jan. 26
CTV announced last week that Canada’s favourite summertime obsession and #1 summer series will return for a sixth season in 2008.
Canadian Idol is getting ready to hit the road beginning Saturday, January 26, 2008 on the first stop of the series’ sixth cross-country audition tour.
The 2008 Canadian Idol Audition Tour will visit 10 cities in seven provinces from coast to coast, including a brand-new city never visited before.
The Season Five audition tour earlier this year saw 10,000 Canadian singers audition in a competition that ultimately saw Sony BMG Music (Canada) Inc. recording artist Brian Melo named the 2007 Champion.
Once again, singers will be allowed to audition with instruments.
Canadian Idol recorded a North American first earlier this year when it allowed instruments into audition rooms for Season 5.
Now, viewers will see instruments on the upcoming season of American Idol on CTV, premiering Jan. 15.
The complete list of cities for the 2008 Canadian Idol Audition Tour will be announced on CTV’s eTalk on Wednesday, January 2 at 7 p.m. ET.
More details about dates and venues for the Canadian Idol Audition Tour will also be revealed.
