Super Tuesday & American Idol
It’s “American Idol” versus Super Tuesday on television tonight, as the Fox reality juggernaut faces primary election coverage on ABC and at least six cable networks.
“If you had to pick just one political story to go up against ‘American Idol,’ this is it,” Bob Schieffer, the host of “Face the Nation” on CBS, told the New York Post.
On Fox’s “Idol,” the singing try-outs continue, this time in Atlanta. Meanwhile, ABC offers “Super Tuesday Showdown” coverage anchored by Charles Gibson at 8 p.m., commencing five hours of primary election coverage. CBS will begin its coverage at 9 p.m., with Katie Couric anchoring until 11 p.m. NBC will offer one hour in prime time, with Brian Williams anchoring at 10 p.m.
