Indra Remembers 97 Contestants
JAKARTA: Jazz musician and Indonesian Idol juror Indra Lesmana claimed he remembered all 97 participants set to go through the elimination phase of the singing contest, which is entering its fifth season this year.
"I can remember the contestants because they all have their own strong characteristics. Last year, I didn't even know any of the participants," Indra said at a press conference Monday.
The 40-year-old musician and singer promised that he and other jurors -- singers Titi DJ and Anang Hermansyah -- would select the contestants based on their skills.
"I promise that when they enter the finals, they are really good singers," he said.
"But for the Indonesian Idol winner, it depends on the viewers. It's not just a singing contest but also a popularity contest," he said.
Over the next three days, jurors will select 24 of the 97 contestants, from 15 cities across the country, to join the workshop stage
