Old-fashioned Idol happy that he did it his way
"What decade is it in Red Deer?" Canadian Idol judge Zack Werner asked Jaydee Bixby after he performed the Lloyd Price classic Lawdy Miss Clawdy at last year's auditions for the popular television show.
The blue-eyed, blond, Drumheller-raised teenager's audition will probably remain one of the most surreal moments in Idol history, the Albertan giving the startled judges every bit of his "good-gosh-golly-sir-ma'am" enthusiasm as he shook their hands after landing his ticket to the big show in Toronto.
Bixby readily admits he entered the competition simply to meet the judges, for whom he had a wide-eyed admiration.
