Ricki-Lee's marriage is over
AUSTRALIAN Idol host Ricki-Lee Coulter has separated from her husband Jamie Babbington after just one year of marriage.
The pop singer announced the separation in a statement released by her publicist today.
"Distance and time apart has been cited as the reason for the marriage breakdown, however the split is of an amicable nature and both Ricki-Lee and Jamie will remain close friends after seven years together," the statement said.
"We simply request the media respect our privacy during a difficult and trying time," Coulter and Babbington added.
Coulter, who rose to fame as a contestant on Australian Idol in 2004, married childhood sweetheart Babbington in September last year, and the couple shared a home on the Gold Coast.
In May this year, she joined Andrew G And James Mathison co-hosting Australian Idol, which is filmed in Sydney.
