Leonard Cohen to pen Xmas Number One thanks to 'X Factor'?

Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' is reportedly set to become 'The X Factor''s forthcoming winner's song.

The track has already been covered by favourite Diana Vickers on the reality TV show.

The move has apparently angered the programme's other contestants, who have accused bosses of favouritism, reports The Daily Mirror.

A source told the paper: "Tempers are running high. They feel it is just the latest in a series of stunts that have left them wondering if the competition has already been won.

"Simon (Cowell, judge) came out at a charity dinner saying his choice to win was Diana. And now they feel the winner's song has been chosen because it suits her vocals."

'Hallelujah', covered famously by Jeff Buckley on his 1994 album 'Grace', was one of several songs the acts were given to choose from during the boot camp stage.

Whoever eventually wins the contest is the favourite go on to claim the UK's Christmas Number One single with the song, as 'The X Factor' winners have done for the last three years.
