Are You The Next Big Star? - Episode 1

By the way Keempee said that next week the second set of auditionees will be featured. He also said that they will reveal the Top 40 that night.

Heres my take on their pilot episode

Honestly I dont get why there were so many jury in this show. Isnt the judges more than enough? I also dont get why they have to split the 16 finalists into 8 Boys and 8 Girls then in the finale 1 boy and 1 girl will compete. What if the girls were better than the boys? or vice versa. It just didnt make sense at all.

As for the stage it looks okay. Honestly way better than Pinoy Idols stage. And as for the host. Im still clueless why they have to have a co host. IMHO Regine is more than enough. As for the judges. Im expecting a more intense critism from them. Well this may not be Pinoy Idol but I think it would be better if the judges will do that.

Well its just the first night so hopefully next week will be better.

    I have high hopes for this show. Maybe, just maybe, they'll make it this time around.

    I hope I can find the latter part of the show on the internet 'coz I wasn't home when the show aired.

    not to flamebait or anything but i think our standards are already based on american idol that's why we always want more harsh comments but then if the comments are harsh just like in pinoy idol people say that we are just immitating the AI.

    for the juries, maybe there are so many juries because they represent the public so i agree that the more the better..

    for the splitting of contestants to 8 each. I think it also has the same logic as to picking the best female or male champ. i mean if the females are better than the males or vice versa, is it suggestibele if they are to pick 2 females as the winner or 2 males? and another one, the logic is that they r to pick 2 winners, so its okay to separate them, but its a different story if will only pick one either male and female and separating them is nonesense!

    thank you so much for your comment. You've got a good point there about the jury and the judges.

    As for your latter comment, If I understand clearly what the voice over said, He said that 1 male and 1 female will compete in the finale. If thats the case, what if 2 females deserves to be in the finale? or vice versa. Its like David Cook and David Archuleta, Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard or Diana Degarmo and Fantasia Barrino. Isnt it a bit unfair?

    sa akin pong pagkakaintindi 2 po ang mananalo 1 girl at 1 boy :)

    from 151 contestants magiging 40 po daw 20 boys and 20 girls then pipili sila ng 16, 8 boys and 8 girls then sa FINALS 6 po daw ang maghaharap harap 3 boys 3 girls at ang mananalo po ay 1 girl and 1 boy.

    the format is like that of Starstruck, 2 winners (1 male and 1 female). the competition will be boys vs boys and girls vs girls.

    i agree sa cnv nung isa...msyado nting na embrace yung american idol to the point na hnhanap ntin un sa mga shows dito...actually nd nman un msama...the network can tke it as a challenge...peo most of the time they fail(like pinoy idol)kea ang resulta dissappointed yung mga tao.i really hope that this show would find a performer that we can all be proud of...hindi lng bsta cnger...but they must have their own identity..

    for my statement in the last paragraph.. i think it is true, as i checked in the website of gma7 that they will be proclaming not one but two champions(one male and one female) so i think its alright to separate the boys and the girls.. so that there will be equal chances of winning..
