'American Idol' spoof, music highlight Gobblefest
Gobblefest is becoming a popular Fond du Lac tradition. Held in the Recreation Building at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds off Fond du Lac Avenue on Wednesday, Nov. 21, the event offers plenty of live music, food, beverages and a chance to boogie.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The "Gobble Idol Finals," a spoof of the popular TV show "American Idol" starts at 6 p.m. Eighteen singers will vie for a $500 first-place cash prize.
The band, Boogie and the Yo Yoz gets the crowd bopping at 7 p.m. They will share the stage with Band X at 8:30 p.m. and the Boogie Men at 10:30 p.m. The evening calls for plenty of party hits from the 1970s, '80s and '90s. Proceeds will benefit FREE Spirit Riders and Consolidated Catholic Schools of Lomira and Theresa.
Advance tickets can be purchased at Ma and Pa locations at 321 Fourth St., 506 S. Main St. and 362 N. Peters Ave. for $10 each. Tickets will be available at the door for $12. Parking is free.
