Ricki-Lee Coulter's on song for kids
SINGER Ricki-Lee Coulter is looking forward to starting a family, but the former Young Diva's new record deal means it won't be happening just yet.
While she hasn't spent much time with her husband, Jamie Babbington, since they wed in September, Coulter says she's busy making sure the pair is set up to start having children.
"I'm setting up for a great life for a family down the track," said the one-time Australian Idol star.
But the former Young Diva says it won't be happening just yet.
"I barely have time to see Jamie, let alone to make babies," she said. "It won't be for a few years, but I'm looking forward to it."
Coulter is in Melbourne to open new Prahran hotspot Valve on Friday night.
She says she is having the time of her life as a solo singer and has no regrets about leaving the Young Divas.
"It's such an exciting time for me, there is so much going on," she said.
"I am so proud of what I have achieved. I don't need anything for Christmas."
Just last weekend, Coulter said she was set to go global after signing major record deals in Britain and Japan.
The 22-year-old's album, Brand New Day, will be released in Europe and Britain on famous dance label Ministry of Sound.
"It's a huge honour and it feels like a pat on the back as well," Coulter said.
