Guy Sebastian will marry Jules Egan

GUY Sebastian will marry his girlfriend of eight years, Jules Egan, who has revealed what surprise they will share on their wedding night.

Sebastian, 26, who took out the first Australian Idol series in 2003, surprised his long-time girlfriend with a white gold ring set with 140 diamonds during their Christmas holiday on the central Queensland coast, New Idea magazine reports.

Along with the ring, the singer/songwriter presented 28-year-old Ms Egan with a fully furnished holiday home near the beach, a four-wheel drive in the garage, and a Louis Vuitton handbag under the Christmas tree.

Sebastian organised the surprise last year while touring to promote his fourth record, The Memphis Album.

"At the end I was completely exhausted, but it was worth it," Sebastian told the magazine.

"I'm marrying the woman I want to spend my life with."

The couple met 13 years ago at the Assemblies of God Paradise Community Church they attended with their families in Adelaide.

The two committed Christians, who now call Sydney home, have both maintained they would not sleep together until they were married.

"People think you're a bit freaky if you don't sleep with your boyfriend," Ms Egan said.

"In our church culture that's okay, but even they were wondering why we hadn't got married.

"And we're still going to keep ourselves for when we marry."

The couple plan to marry sometime this year, but have not revealed an exact date.
