Robbie Seay Band on the 'Rise' with American Idol
Brentwood, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Sparrow Records) - 'Rise,' a song from worshipful rock act Robbie Seay Band's latest album, GIVE YOURSELF AWAY, is featured prominently in commercials for the new season of television's No 1 show, American Idol, which premiered this week to an audience of more than 30 million viewers.
The program's four unique promotional ads now airing in prime time feature the song, the band's name, and lyrically influenced taglines 'Which Idol will rise?' and 'Who will rise?'
Lead singer Robbie Seay is a fan of the blockbuster singing competition and elated by the result of this unexpected connection.
'This song is about a calling beyond just ourselves ... to give ourselves away to those who are suffering and in great need,' he says. 'To have that kind of message being broadcast every night on network TV is more than we could have ever dreamed.'
Sales of GIVE YOURSELF AWAY have also been on the rise in light of the Idol connection which makes Seay especially excited for longtime fans of his band.
'It's fun for our fans to have this kind of exposure happen to the band,' he says. 'We're a bunch of normal musician punks, enjoying life and music and family. This has just been such a great thing for us and our community of supporters around the country.'
Based in Houston, Texas, Robbie Seay Band leads worship at its home church, Ecclesia, a 'Holistic Missional Christian Community' that includes a coffeehouse, bookstore, food co-op, and recording studio. The group also tours nationally and has earned widespread acclaim from the Christian media as well as kindred artists and authors such as David Crowder*Band and Donald Miller (Blue Like Jazz).
