Rejected 'Idol' has blossoming career

Even her beatboxing four-year-old son couldn't help propel Jessica Downs to Toronto for the Canadian Idol audition finals.

When it was Downs' turn in front of judges and producers yesterday in Calgary, she broke out with a soulful version of Unfaithful by Rihanna.

It piqued the interest of judges Sass Jordan, Jake Gold, Zack Werner and Farley Flex enough to ask the 22-year-old to bring one of her two sons, Malcom, 4, into the room to help her out during song No. 2.
