East Africa: Who Will Be the Next Idol?

Idols auditions are open to those aged of 18 and 27 years and the first audition is scheduled for March 12

"Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti..." All you Idols East Africa hopefuls should start trying out those solfas before Wednesday when your voices will be put to the test.

That is when M-Net's star-making reality music TV show Idols will host its one make-or-break audition session in the country. It will be held at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort in Kampala with registration starting at 8 a.m.

So if you have been waiting for your big chance to show off your undeniable stage presence, come on now, because the winner will get a 'lifetime' recording contract through the famed SONY BMG and $80,000 (around Shs136m) cash prize.

The first step on the road to Idols fame is to enter the first audition scheduled for March 12. All hopefuls have been advised to make the Munyonyo trip early enough to be in time for registrations because only the first 1,500 people to arrive at the venue are guaranteed an audition. The entrants who will make it through the initial auditions with the show's preliminary judges will then be asked to return to Munyonyo Resort the following day to meet the show's TV judges.
