Leon Jackson has X Factor for award win
X FACTOR winner Leon Jackson has been presented with a national award for being a "great role model" for young Scots.
The 19-year-old from Whitburn, West Lothian, has won a Young Scot award for entertainment. He was given his prize at an awards ceremony in Glasgow City Hall.
A spokesman for the awards scheme said: "Leon stormed to victory in X Factor 2007 and won the hearts of the nation after dedicating his win to his mum. With a Christmas number one to his name and a promising career to look forward to, it is commendable that Leon has remained a great role model."
The awards recognise the achievements of young people in the arts, sports, music and enterprise. Ross High School pupil David Montgomery, 18, from Tranent was a runner up for the volunteering award for his work with youngsters with special needs.
