Simon Cowell admits Scott Bruton X Factor blunder
No, we've not made a mistake, this really is true... Simon Cowell has finally admitted he is wrong!
The 4 X Factor judges, the acts waiting backstage, the live X Factor studio audience and the entire UK nation watching at home had to sit through poor X Factor finalist Scott Bruton's embarrassingly dreadful version of 1960's classic Yeh Yeh on Saturday night.
It was clearly the worst possible song for the former Pontin's Bluecoat - who demonstrated a decent singing voice in his journey to the show's live finals - to have to perform live.
Despite some decent choreography and an air of confidence throughout the performance, it was totally not Scott's style.
And didn't the other three X Factor judges let Simon Cowell know!
They gave praise for Scott's own performance but slated Cowell's choice of track, with a livid Louis Walsh branded the song "The worst song choice ever in X Factor history".
The usually pleasant Dannii Minogue had a dig at Cowell too, telling Scott: "Sack your mentor. That was not the song for you".
Cheryl Cole showed no sympathy either, adding: "I know Simon was trying to get you away from the Bluecoat thing.
"But in doing so, he's given you the biggest Bluecoat song ever. And I am blaming him, not you."
A clearly devastated Scott was left speechless before Cowell finally piped up to take the blame, saying: "I agree with them - I got this wrong".
"I didn't want you to be doing ballad after ballad. But this song didn't work".
"If the people in the north of England get behind you and give you another chance, I give you my word, I will give you a better song choice next week."
Scott survived by the skin of his teeth as girl groups Bad Lashes and Girlband were left to battle it out for survival, with Bad Lashes eventually getting the boot after a dreadful version of Wonderwallsource: http://www.myparkmag.co.uk/articles/television/x-factor/simon-cowell-admits-scott-bruton-x-factor-blunder.html
