Canadian Idol Eva Avila visits Marymounacademy

Eva Avila, the 2006 winner of CTV’s Canadian Idol, was warmly received in a visit to the English Montreal School Board’s Marymount Academy on Sept. 7.

Avila was in town to promote her Sept. 25 benefit concert at the Theatre Maisonneuve of Place des Arts benefiting the organization LOVE (Leave Out Violence), which helps youth who have lived with violence to end the violent behavior in their lives, and to use their experience to become community leaders in violence prevention. LOVE is active at a number of EMSB schools, including Marymount.
