Auditions for Season 6 of 'Canadian Idol' to hit 10 cities starting Jan. 26
Canadian singers can get another shot at fame next month.
Auditions for the sixth season of the hit televised singing competition "Canadian Idol" begin Jan. 26 in a yet-to-be announced city, CTV said Thursday.
The Canadian Idol Audition Tour will go through 10 cities in seven provinces, including a city never visited by the Idol casting crew before, said a release.
Like last season, singers will be allowed to audition with instruments. Further details will be announced on CTV's "ETalk" on Jan. 2.
About 10,000 hopefuls turned out for the Season 5 audition tour earlier this year. Brian Melo of Hamilton, Ont., was declared the winner in the finale in September.
A new season of "American Idol" is slated to kick off Jan. 15 on CTV in Canada, and on Fox in the U.S.
No word on an airdate for Season 6 of "Canadian Idol."
