Ben Mulroney to wed fashion designer girlfriend

It was an extra special holiday for Canadian Idol and eTalk host Ben Mulroney who proposed to his girlfriend of almost a year, Jessica Brownstein, last Friday. The son of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney got down on one knee and popped the question as the couple were lunching at a deli in the Westmount district of their childhood hometown of Montreal.

Fellow diners said the romantic moment between the pair, who grew up together in the upmarket neighbourhood, happened very quickly. And they only realised what had occurred when they heard clothing designer and stylist Jessica excitedly answering: "Yes, yes, yes!".

The loved-up pair were soon out the door and off to share the news with family and friends. And while Ben and Jessica have yet to announce a date for the wedding, they spent the weekend and New Year's Eve celebrating with those closest to them.
