X Factor - Ex contestant in glossy mags

Former X Factor champ Leona Lewis has appeared in an photo spread in two American magazines, it has emerged.

The British songstress, who shot to fame during her time on the reality pop programme, is set to appear on the cover of the spring issue of American Vogue, according to entertainment website Female First.

As well, Leona appears on the cover of February's Harper's Bazaar magazine sporting a stunning off-the-shoulder white ballgown.

"Everyone wanted to see a Cinderella transformation after X Factor but the most important thing for Leona was to make the transformation into a global star without losing her sense of self," said stylist Alison Edmond, fashion director at Harper's Bazaar.

Ms Edmond added that Leona's youth and natural sensuality posed a stylistic challenge for the photo shoot.

"While we aimed for a certain sophistication, we had to find the fine line between urban style and diva," she explained.

The X Factor superstar set a Guinness World Record in 2007 for the biggest-selling single of the year - Bleeding Love - which remains in the top three in the UK charts, according to top40-charts.com.

Her album, Spirit, has sold over 1.5 million copies since its November release.
