X Factor's Rhydian lands contract
X Factor runner-up Rhydian Roberts has signed a record deal with Sony BMG.
The 24-year-old Welshman, who had been a 1/3 favourite to win the ITV talent search, was beaten into second spot in the December final by Leon Jackson.
Sony BMG has the rights to all artists represented by judge Simon Cowell including Jackson and former X Factor winners Leona Lewis and Shayne Ward.
Following the final, claims by hundreds of people that they were unable to vote for Roberts were dismissed by ITV.
A spokeswoman for Roberts said he was celebrating with a well-earned holiday.
Rehearsals were then due to begin for the X-Factor tour, which begins in Belfast on 11 February, the spokeswoman added.
The 25-date tour also features Jackson as well as fellow finalists Same Difference.
