Canadian Idol Recap: And then there were seven

We kick off this week's results show not with a group medley, but a group song. Which is a nice change. The Top 8 sang "an accoustic version" of My Generation by The Who. Interesting choice especially since the first line is "they try to put me down," which can easily be addressed to Idol critics. And while I'm not his biggest fan, I liked when Sebastian hopped on the judges table to sing in Zack's face ("I hope you die before I get old") as payback for Zack's comment from Monday night. I also thought the back and forth between Earl and Mookie was great.

Product placement alert: go buy Zack Werner's new album with his band. It dropped Tuesday. We get a quick look back at Monday's performances and then a commercial.

When we get back, Mr. Gwen Stefani, AKA Gavin Rossdale, performs an unplugged version of his new single Love Remains the Same. I haven't heard his voice since Bush was big when I was in high school, so his performance takes me back a little bit.

Jully Black alert: Ben tells us after the break, we'll be going to her.

She's at the Idol mansion this week, and we waste about five minutes with her segment of her interviewing the contestants. Ben tells us she's here every week, but that's a lie; she wasn't around last week. After that we get down to the results.

Ben starts with Earl, Mark and Drew. Drew and Earl are safe, Mark is the first member of the bottom three.

Next up is Theo, Mitch and Sebastian. Theo and Mitch are safe, while Sebastian is in the bottom three.

Finally it's between Mookie and Amberly. Amberly is safe; Mookie is in the bottom three.
