Toronto's Pigott voted off Idol

Toronto's Sebastian Pigott was eliminated from the Canadian Idol stage last night and it seemed to come as a relief to the judges who had started to see the actor/musician as a looker, but not a singer. It was almost a given that Pigott would be the one to go after receiving Bottom 3 status three times in the past three weeks. Known for big performances, Pigott seemed to lack the vocal chops to match his ambitious shaking and thrusting around the microphone. The singer, appearing stunned after his elimination, gave an encore performance of Lucille before exiting. Theo Tams from Lethbridge, Alta., Drew Wright from Collingwood, Ont., Amberly Thiessen from Seven Persons, Alta., Mitch MacDonald from Port Hood, N.S, and Earl Stevenson from Lloydminster, Alta. all finished in the Top 7.
