Please complete this sentence: '‘I first realised I wanted to become a professional singer when…' I sang "That’s what friends are for" on stage at the age of 12. It was the best feeling I’d ever had and I wanted it again!

What is your favourite song? Please tell us why you love that particular song.
Beyonce's "Crazy in Love". It's just a classic song! Always gets me in a good mood.

Which previous finalist do you find most inspiring and why?
Guy Sebastian, because he won it first and is still going great today.

Describe your feelings at your first audition.
Slightly nervous but excited about singing one of my own songs and have feedback from successful singers like Tina Arena and Darren Hayes.

Obviously, it’s important to have a strong voice, but what other aspects give a performer ‘star quality’? Please explain your answer.
A presence on stage that you cannot buy or imitate. Being able to connect with an audience no matter what you're singing.

What would you call your debut single?
Depends what the song was about!

Why do you think Australian Idol is an important part of our local music industry?
Because it gives young aspiring singers a chance to develop their creativity and talent with people from the music industry, who know what it takes to be successful!

Which artist (dead or alive) would you most like to perform a duet with and why?
Jewel – I think she’s amazing. I’ve seen how people react when they watch her sing. I'd love to be a part of that.

What’s the best thing about being on Australian Idol?
Singing of course, and we just did a photo shoot; getting hair and make-up done was fantastic!

Who is your favourite judge and why?
I would have to say "Dicko". He brought me back from London and has been supportive throughout my auditions. I don't feel I have performed my best yet here, but he has given me the opportunity to show Australia what got me through in London.

Please complete this sentence: The one thing I want Australia to know about me is…
I love a good laugh and being surrounded by fun, happy people. If you take life too seriously you’ll forget to enjoy it!

What’s the best piece of advice someone has given you?
Sophie, if you keep eating ice-cream you'll look horrible on camera.
