Please complete this sentence: ‘I first realised I wanted to become a professional singer when…’ I listened to Rick Price’s voice for the first time and craved to be able to sound so good like him and to do the things he can do vocally.
What is your favourite song? Please tell us why you love that particular song.
My favourite song to listen to is Incubus "Are You In", I can never skip it no matter what mood I am in. But, my favourite song of all time, for all reasons is Rick Price "Heaven Knows".
Which previous finalist do you find most inspiring and why?
Shannon Noll, because he reminds me of myself being just a bloke who can sing and who is untrained and loves to grow as a performer.
Describe your feelings at your first audition.
Very nervous! As being judged on what I do best (singing) is a totally different feeling to perform with and getting through it is tough knowing that you can always do better in a more relaxed environment.
Obviously, it’s important to have a strong voice, but what other aspects give a performer ‘star quality’? Please explain your answer.
Not only is a strong voice important, I believe a unique voice and sound is important as it then has a chance of helping to change the face of the music industry and help it evolve
What would you call your debut single?
"Good times start right now" for obvious reasons.
Why do you think Australian Idol is an important part of our local music industry?
Because it gives ordinary day people a chance to fulfil their dreams who didn’t know exactly how to pursue them which is wicked.
Which artist (dead or alive) would you most like to perform a duet with and why?
I know I go on a lot about Rick Price, but he is partially responsible for me being so passionate and also starting my singing career so yeah definitely Rick Price.
What’s the best thing about being on Australian Idol?
The absolute best thing is that I have made some friends that have changed my life in a positive way and that being around them I feel a sense of home bonding with my musical brothers and sisters.
Who is your favourite judge and why?
If I absolutely had to choose, it would be Kyle as he always has been positive towards me and gave me comments that I am so honoured to have received.
Please complete this sentence: The one thing I want Australia to know about me is…
I am a very level headed cruisy dude who just loves singing and hates posing as someone I am not and a person who is very easy to get along with.
What’s the best piece of advice someone has given you?
That there is no place for fear in me and to stay positive and centred and not to read into things too much and just do it.
