'American Idol' competitor to perform at The Maryland Theatre

Elliott Yamin, second runner-up in the 2006 "American Idol" competition, will perform in November in Hagerstown.

The concert is scheduled for Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. at The Maryland Theatre. Ticket prices are $30 and $50.

Tickets go on sale today at 8 a.m. at the theater's box office. Beginning Monday, tickets will be available by phone or online at the theater's Web site, www.marylandtheatre.org.

Yamin was second runner-up in the 2006 "American Idol" competition that eventually was won by Taylor Hicks, who performed in July at The Maryland Theatre.

Since then, Yamin has begun recording with Sony/ATV Music, releasing his self-titled debut album earlier this year. Two singles from that album - "Movin' On" and "Wait For You" - already have charted.

Opening for Yamin will be two acts - Josh Hoge and The Last Goodnight, according to theater director Brian Sullivan.
