American Idol Spin Off in Savannah For a Good Cause
You've probably heard of the show American Idol, but there's a lot more than fame at stake in the Savannah version.
Tonight, more than 70 people showed up in Jessica and Lauren Olsen's backyard for Light the Night Idol. The talent contest benefits the Light the Night Foundation, to find a cure for Leukemia and Lymphoma.
The cause is very important to Jessica and Lauren, who's father Eric was diagnosed with Leukemia seven years ago. Their friends just wanted to help.
"I'm good friends with the Olsen's and last year I came to the show and I decided that coming to watch the show wasn't enough. I needed to help and I wanted to help," said contestant Elizabeth White.
The Olsen's raised more than $2,000 tonight and they're expecting more donations. Over the last three years, the girls have raised more than $10,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
