Viewers vote Hope off X Factor
Girl band Hope is the latest act to be voted off the ITV1 talent show The X Factor missing out on a place in the semi final of the competition.
The five girls, who formed a group after being rejected as solo artists during the show's auditions, failed to impress the voting public.
It was the first show since the series began that the judges did not have a say in who was sent home.
Despite the setback, the girls vowed they will continue to sing together.
Raquelle Gracie, 20, Phoebe Brown, 16, Charlie Mole, 23, Emily Biggs, 17, and Leah Lauder, 20, are hoping for a recording deal.
"We are just five normal girls who took a chance to go into this competition and we've come out as a strong bonded girl group and we are not letting go of that," said Gracie.
The group, who were mentored by Simon Cowell, sang Queen's classic We Will Rock You and the Spice Girls' song 2 Become 1.
"They've just been great fun. It's not going to be the same without you girls," said Cowell after the results were announced.
Cowell, who now only has one act left in the contest, Same Difference, rubbished reports that the singers in Hope did not get on.
"Contrary to what everybody said you've been an absolute pleasure to work with. I don't think this is the end of you," he said.
The other acts who will perform in next Saturday's live semi-final are Rhydian Roberts, Niki Evans and Leon Jackson.
