COWELL PLEASED AT LEWIS' BRITS SNUB
Music mogul SIMON COWELL is relieved his pop protege LEONA LEWIS lost out at the Brit Awards last month (Feb08), because the snub will stop her from developing an ego.
The singer was nominated in four categories at the London awards ceremony, but sensationally lost out on gongs including British Female Solo Artist and British Single for her smash hit Bleeding Love, despite being the favourite to win.
But Cowell insists the experience will serve as a great learning curve for the young star.
He says, "I was glad Leona didn't win at the Brits. It was the best thing that could have happened.
"She's had a lot of things going her way so it shows her that things can be unfair at times. She had the biggest selling (U.K.) single of last year so it's a mockery that she never won a Brit. This knockback will make her stronger."
