Please complete this sentence: ‘I first realised I wanted to become a professional singer when…’ I performed at my first “gig” in front of my school. The feeling after the performance was amazing. From that point onwards I knew I wanted to become a singer.

What is your favourite song? Please tell us why you love that particular song.
I don’t have one favourite song but definitely ‘Blackout’ by Muse is up there!

Which previous finalist do you find most inspiring and why?
Bobby Flynn was definitely an inspiring finalist because he was so original and always himself. He wasn’t afraid to try new things.

Describe your feelings at your first audition.
At my first audition my stomach was sinking and I was quite shaky! But as I started singing I managed to build up my confidence and I loved it.

Obviously, it’s important to have a strong voice, but what other aspects give a performer ‘star quality’? Please explain your answer.
Personality plays a big part in creating or being a performer. The performer to me, must be original, inspiring and have charisma.

What would you call your debut single?
“The pope has the biggest gig in town!” or “Bright eyes”… I’m not good with song titles.

Why do you think Australian Idol is an important part of our local music industry?
It’s important because it keeps the local music industry alive and finds singers who might not have been discovered were it not for the show.

Which artist (dead or alive) would you most like to perform a duet with and why?
John Lennon because the songs he wrote are inspiring and I love his voice. Nat King Cole, because I love his voice as well and I love his style. And more…

What’s the best thing about being on Australian Idol?
Being able to perform with an amazing band, meeting great people and doing something completely life changing.

Who is your favourite judge and why?
My favourite judge is Marcia but I really like the whole lot, they’ve been great with me and really supportive.
