Houston, Hicks to kick off Guntersville development

Legendary fisherman Jimmy Houston will tape an episode of his TV show with American Idol winner Taylor Hicks at Alabama Shoreline LLC on Lake Guntersville during the grand opening weekend of the development in late October.

Hicks, a Birmingham native and 2006 winner of the American Idol talent show, bought property in the development.

Stephen Patch, managing partner of Alabama Shoreline, said the builders finished construction and sold more than 75 percent of the lakefront home sites.

Buyers can share dinner with Hicks and Houston Oct. 26 and visitors can meet the two celebrities Oct. 27. A drawing for lake property valued at $49,900 will be held at the end of the year.
