“November Rain” because it is a beautiful piece of music but mixed in with Axel’s gutsy voice and powerful guitar. Very uplifting for me!

Shannon Noll, because since he began he has only grown bigger and better and he is down to earth, like me.

Describe your feelings at your first audition.
I was extremely nervous, but also very excited to be finally having a go at it.

Obviously, it’s important to have a strong voice, but what other aspects give a performer ‘star quality’? Please explain your answer.
I reckon you have to present yourself well and hold up well on stage as well. You also need to have a great memory.

What would you call your debut single?
I’d probably go with the title of the song.

Why do you think Australian Idol is an important part of our local music industry?
It is a great way to find talent in people that could otherwise go unrecognised. And for the contestant it’s a great way to ease someone into the life of entertaining.

Which artist (dead or alive) would you most like to perform a duet with and why?
Jeff Healey, because I have a similar voice to him and I idolise his gutsy blues guitar. He’s cool as ice!

What’s the best thing about being on Australian Idol?
Singing as best as you can and hearing a crowd go off because they love it, it is the greatest thing in the world.

Who is your favourite judge and why?
I like all 3 of them but I have to say ‘Dicko’ because we got the same name. He seems cool too!
