Dannii 'set for X-Factor pay cut'
Dannii Minogue is heading for a STG300,000 pay cut when she returns as a judge on hit British TV talent show X-Factor.
Minogue is expected to have her STG1 million ($A1.66 million) pay packet cut to STG700,000 ($A1.16 million) for the next series because she will not feature in all the shows after she gives birth to her first child in July.
An X-Factor source has revealed that the show's creator and star judge Simon Cowell felt pressured into re-signing the 38-year-old Australian singer, who also co-hosts Australia's Got Talent, to join him and fellow judges Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh.
"Simon simply didn't realise how popular Dannii had become with viewers since last year's series," the source told The News of the World.
"Even when she became pregnant, he wanted to find a way to ease her into a lesser role on the show.
"But Dannii will only come back if she's on the judging panel, and Simon knew it would be impossible to remove a pregnant woman. There would have been a huge backlash."
Minogue has recently returned from Australia to London to continue talks about her X-Factor role.
She is expected to give birth during the early stages of the next series and miss out on some of the audition and contestant "bootcamp" process while she is on maternity leave.
However, she is expected to return as a judge for the finals in the lead-up to Christmas.
