Review: Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore for Xbox 360
“American Idol” is still one of the most popular TV shows out there, some 5+ years since it first debuted. Of course, it’s spawned any number of successful pop careers–from Kelly Clarkson on the high-end to Sanjaya Malakar on the not-so-high-end. So, does this title make you want to get on stage and sing your heart out or beg for a Simon Cowell-style tirade? Read on to find out whether Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore is worth your time and money.
Just like any other karaoke game, the single player features lyrics and note bubbles on the screen that the singer must follow. Instead of a music video in the background, however, American Idol features a multitude of real settings like a stadium or nightclub. The player can also choose his or her own character and outfit. Another distinction is that the voices of the real “American Idol” judges will access your performance and vote on whether the player should go to Hollywood. Yes, you will hear Paula complimenting your outfit and Simon criticizing your performance as the worst in years.
